Supported Living Services in Birmingham
As part of our HMO provision we are obligated to support our vulnerable tenants. The nature of the support provided to them is of housing related support. When we receive a referral and that is accepted a bespoke support plan is created for the individual in question using an initail needs assessment to work out which areas he or she would require support in.
The Support Plan is made up of five main aspects namely:
Achieve Economic Wellbeing – includes areas like assessing benefits, help with budgeting, creating a debt repayment plan, opening a savings account, etc
Be Healthy – includes registraion with GP/dentist, reducing substance misuse alchol/drugs/smoking, following a healthy diet, helping with physical health issues, helping with mental health issues, etc
Enjoy and Achieve – includes creating CVs, helping with enrolling for studies, encouraging volunteering, helping with job applications, future planning move on, etc.
Making a Positive Contribution – includes helping to reduce offending or anti-social behaviour, creating positive support netwroks, etc
Stay Safe – includes maintaining accommodation, minimising risk of self-harm and developing independent living skills.
